Ranchi, Oct.26: Judge Subhash Chand took the oath of office and secrecy as a judge of the Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday. The oath was administered by Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan. The swearing-in event took place on the grounds of the High Court. The number of judges in the Jharkhand High Court has now risen to 20 with his oath. 5 posts of judges are still left vacant.
Earlier, the number of judges in the Jharkhand High Court, including Chief Justice Dr. Ravi Ranjan, was 19. The Union Ministry of Law and Justice transferred Allahabad High Court’s Judge Subhash Chand to the Jharkhand High Court.
