Ramgarh, June 25: Judo players selected at the provincial level were felicitated in a simple function organized at the Yamaha Motor India authorized Shivam Bikes Showroom located at Hotel Shivam Inn Campus on Sunday.
President of the Judo Association Vijay Mewar garlanded all the winners of gold medals, bronze medals and silver medals and gifted T-shirts to the honoured players. Bhumi Chowdhary (-40 kg), Piyush Kumar Rana (-66 kg) and Alekh Singh (+90 kg) were the gold medal winners. Sanjay Kumar Hansda got the bronze medal. Nidhi Singh (-63 kg), Sanoj Kumar Singh (-60 kg) and Adarsh Kumar Singh (-66 kg) won silver medals.
This two-day state-level competition was held at Mahendra Bhuni Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Deoghar. About 200 players from 12 districts took part in this competition. President cum-social worker Vijay Mewar said that due to the dedication, hard work and courage of these players, the name of Ramgarh continues to shine at the national level even in the field of sports. Mewar expressed confidence that these players will get medals at the national level.
Judo Association secretary Shashi Pandey said that the three gold medal winning players selected in this competition will get an opportunity to show their talent in the National Judo Championship. Bhumi Chowdhary, who received the gold medal, said that this honour has boosted their spirits a lot and expressed her gratitude to Shivam Bikes. Bhumi Chowdhary, Piyush Kumar Rana and Alekh Singh assured with full confidence that they will give their full strength to get the national medal. Coach Devendra Kumar and team manager Sami Kumar Singh were also honoured on the occasion.
