Ranchi, June 20: A commercial court in Ranchi has ordered that JugJugg Jeeyo be screened before its June 24 release, according to the reports.
This came after a writer named Vishal Singh claimed that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions plagiarised his script Bunny Rani for JugJugg Jeeyo, causing a backlash. Vishal uploaded screenshots on Twitter, claiming that he had mailed excerpts of his script to the production studio. The film, on the other hand, was made without his knowledge.
Ranchi-based writer Vishal Singh has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the film.
A court in Ranchi has now ordered that the film be screened before its June 24 release. Judge M C Jha will continue the arguments after the court screening and decide if the video breaches the Copyright Act or not, according to sources. Karan Johar and his Dharma Productions crew have yet to comment on the situation.
