Ranchi, Dec.16: Senior most judge of Jharkhand High Court Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh has been appointed to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court with effect from December 20, 2022 consequent upon the retirement of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan. The President of India has appointed him exercising her power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India.
Additional secretary to the Government of India Rajinder Kashyap issued a notification to this effect today evening.
Born on 7th July, 1965, Justice Singh passed B.A. Honours and obtained his L.L.B Degree from University of Delhi. In the Year 1990, he got enrolled as advocate and practiced at Patna High Court from 1990 to 2000 and in the High Court of Jharkhand since 2001 till his elevation as Judge of High Court of Jharkhand. He was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand on 24th January, 2012 and confirmed as permanent Judge on 16th January, 2014. He was appointed as Executive Chairman of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority from April, 2021.
