Hyderabad, April 8: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao would not attend the event since Prime Minister Narendra Modi is prepared to offer Telangana a significant boost in terms of development.
Today in Hyderabad, Prime Minister Modi will launch a number of projects totaling Rs. 11,360 crore in Telangana. He will also launch the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express and open a state-of-the-art integrated terminal building costing a total of Rs 2,437 crore at the Chennai airport.
In accordance with procedure, a formal invitation to KCR to take part in the Prime Minister’s announcement of development projects was issued to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Additionally, CM KCR will not welcome the Prime Minister upon his arrival at Begumpet Airport. It is important to point out that CM KCR has already missed PM Modi’s event in Telangana.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) questioned PM Modi’s animus against Telangana in a cryptic remark on its official Twitter account. “Why is Prime Minister Narendra Modi biased against our Telangana state? The Telangana community is condemning the Prime Minister,” reads the tweet.
When Prime Minister Modi visited Hyderabad in February 2022 for the unveiling of the “Statue of Equality” honouring Bhakti Saint Sri Ramanujacharya and the Climate Change Research Facility on Plant Protection and Rapid Generation Advancement Facility (ICRISAT), KCR chose to forego the ceremony. He was conspicuously absent during Prime Minister’s reception at the airport.
PM Modi was the special visitor at the Indian School of Business’ 20th Foundation Day festivities in May 2022, which KCR missed. He broke tradition for the third time in July 2022 when he once more declined to receive Prime Minister Modi upon his arrival at Hyderabad’s Begumpet Airport on Saturday. In recent months, the Telangana chief minister has increased his criticism while frequently expressing a desire to bring together other regional groups.
