New Delhi: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his public appeal urging people to stay safe during the intense summer heat. Kharge said people could tolerate the heat, but were struggling due to “BJP-sponsored inflation.”

Congress Attacks Government Over Rising Prices

In a post on X, Kharge criticized the government over inflation and rising fuel prices. He remarked that while people may manage the scorching weather, increasing prices were making life difficult for the common public and questioned why the Prime Minister remained silent on inflation.

PM Modi Urges Public to Stay Safe

Earlier, PM Modi had appealed to citizens to take precautions during the ongoing heatwave. He advised people to stay hydrated, carry water while stepping outside, and help those in need by offering drinking water.

Call for Public Support During Heatwave

The Prime Minister also appreciated people keeping water pots outside homes and shops for public use. He further urged citizens to provide ORS to those affected by heat and take special care of children, elderly people, and outdoor workers during extreme temperatures.
