A Delhi special court has acquitted Sudhir Sahay in the Vijay Central Coal Block allocation scam linked to Chhattisgarh. Sudhir Sahay is the brother of former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay.
CBI Had Filed Charges Against Company Officials
The coal allocation scam was investigated by the CBI, which had filed a chargesheet against Sudhir Sahay along with SKS Ispat Power Limited Director Anil Gupta, Joint Director Deepak Gupta, and Manager Amrit Singh. Sudhir Sahay was a nominated director in the company.
Court Finds Lack of Evidence
The court acquitted all the accused, stating that the CBI failed to provide sufficient evidence to support the allegations against the company and its officials. The agency had alleged that SKS Ispat Power Limited secured benefits in the coal allocation process by providing false information about its production capacity.
