Koderma, May 28: Van Raksha Bandhan programme was organised in the village Reghwatand of Chandwara block in which Kamal Kishore Soan, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India was also present. Others present were Koderma DC Aditya Ranjan, forest Divisional Officer Suraj Kumar Singh, deputy development commissioner Rituraj and subdivisional officer Sandeep Kumar Meena.
Officers and villagers planted saplings during the programme. For the protection of the trees, a thread was tied to the trunk of the trees. Along with this, the plantation was also done by the joint secretary, deputy commissioner, and forest divisional officer.
Soan said that more and more plantations should be done so that there is water conservation along with environmental protection. He urged villagers not only to plant saplings but to protect them till they grow and become trees. He praised the Van Raksha Bandhan program which, he said, is a good initiative to protect forests around us. Apart from this, he also visited the Amrit Sarovar built by the forest department. He administered the oath of forest protection to the villagers.
Others present were confidential in-charge Jaipal Soy, block development officer Sanjay Yadav, circle officer Ram Ratan Varanwal and circle officer Koderma Anil Kumar.
