Ranchi, Sept 24: Ranchi railway division is on its way to complete the second-longest railway bridge which will be of 218 metres and is being built at the cost of Rs 51 crore.

According to a railway engineer, it will be completed by the year 2024. It is under construction near Kurkura railway station. This bridge will fall under the Hatia-Bandamunda section which is being doubled in size. The bridge, when completed, will allow trains to move faster across places. For the foundation of the bridge, blasting is going on. It has been taken into consideration that the old railway bridge should not be harmed during this construction work. For this, the help of a CMRE consultant has been enlisted, and the job is being carried out under his supervision. The new bridge is being built at a 25-meter distance from the old one. The Hatia-Bandamunda portion is 159 kilometers long, with construction activity underway in several sections. The issue of forest removal is still being debated in some areas. Tourism is being given more emphasis through this railway bridge construction.

The importance of this railway bridge is that it will lie between forest and other beautiful sceneries. Lying between the hills and forest, the beauty of this bridge will make it special for tourism and it will be a better option for tourists and for photography purposes. In the future, people will love to come here especially for photography purposes. It is to be noted that under Ranchi railway division, in Lohardaga, near Naamudag forest division one of the highest railway bridges has been constructed and it is attracting the tourists and being praised for its height. Now Koel Bridge will be the second-longest bridge which will be completed soon and people will be seen here also, said the engineer.
