Kolkata, Oct 26: State Minister Jyotipriya Mallick’s residence in Salt Lake, Kolkata, was searched on Thursday by the Enforcement Directorate.
In relation to an alleged case of corruption in rationing distribution, ED searches are being carried out.
Mallick formerly served as the state government’s minister of food and supplies and is currently in charge of forest affairs.
Sources report that the ED is probing the connections between Mallick and businessman Bakibur Rahman, who was recently arrested in the case. Additionally, the ED conducted a search at the home of Mallick’s assistant, Amit Dey, located in Nagerbazar within the North 24 Paraganas district.
