Jamtara, Oct. 9: A 35 years old female school teacher was stabbed on Saturday by unknown assailants. The incident took place while she was returning to her home from Deva Upgraded Middle School under Sadar block area of Jamtara district. The stabbing has caused her multiple injuries.
SP of Jamtara, Deepak Kumar Sinha said the victim while on the way to home from the school at around 12 noon, was intercepted by two unidentified assailants who stabbed her after kicking her off from the scooty she was riding on and escaped from the spot on a bike.
It was only after locals spotted the lady lying in the pool of blood, when she was rushed to a nearby nursing home from where she was referred to Dhanbad for treatment.
“The condition of the victim is stable now who has received multiple injuries,” the SP said, adding that the FIR in this connection was yet to be lodged and that the police were waiting for the victim’s statement for the very purpose.
Sources, however, said that the police was also zeroing on an extramarital relationship of the victim with someone whom she lived with as a married couple, to be the reason behind the assault.
“Investigation into the stabbing of the lady schoolteacher is on to ascertain the motive behind it and different aspects of the incident are being correlated for the purpose,” the SP stated, adding that the assailants were not yet identified.
