Ranchi: For this there is no delay in the implementation of government projects, so that there is a continuous exercise at the government level. Despite this, most government projects are not completed on their stipulated time. Due to this the cost of the projects also increases. The biggest problem behind the delay in government projects is the impediment in land acquisition. In view of this, Revenue Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary L Khyangte have sent a letter to the Deputy Commissioners of all the districts.
What is written in the letter by the Additional Chief Secretary
Additional Chief Secretary Khyangte has said in his letter that many projects of the government are not completed from time to time because the land acquisition work is not done in the districts within the stipulated time. National Highway Authority of India, Gas Authority of India Limited, regarding land acquisitionA meeting was held recently in relation to many projects of the state government including various projects of railways. After due consideration in the meeting, it has come to the fore that due to the delay in land acquisition, the work of many projects is getting affected.
In the letter, the Additional Chief Secretary has asked the Deputy Commissioners to monitor the work themselves, so that the land acquisition work can be completed on time. For this, he has directed the Deputy Commissioners to co-ordinate with the central agencies and the departments concerned for the purposes for which the land is being acquired. He has also said that due to non-completion of projects on time, its cost increases, as well as the general public is also not able to get its benefits on time.
Many plans are being affected
Many important projects are getting affected due to non-acquisition of land on time. Work is not being done in many sectors on the railway’s important freight corridor, gas pipeline scheme and NHAI’s many plans for widening the national highway.
