New Delhi, Nov 29: The Kashmir Files is making headlines again. The Kashmir Files was referred to as a ‘propaganda, vulgar picture’ by jury chairman Nadav Lapid during the 53rd IFFI Goa closing ceremony. Sudipto Sen, a member of the IFFI jury, used Twitter to provide clarification following a significant criticism.
He declared that his personal opinion is represented in Nadav Lapid’s remarks on The Kashmir Files. He continued by saying that he avoided making any political remarks while serving as a juror.
When he referred to The Kashmir Files as a ‘vulgar’ movie, Israeli director and IFFI jury chair Nadav Lapid set off a hornet’s nest. His remarks received a lot of feedback after becoming viral on social media networks.
Sudipto Sen, a member of the jury and a filmmaker, addressed the controversies on Twitter.
“Whatever has been said by IFFI 2022 Jury Chairman Mr Nadav Lapid about the film, The Kashmir Files, from the stage of the closing ceremony of 53-rd IFFI was completely his personal opinion. In the offiial presentation of the Jury Board to the Festival Director and in the official Press Conference, where we 4 juries (the fifth jury had to leave for her personal emergency) were present and interacted with the press, we never mentioned anything about our likes or dislikes. Both were our official collective opinion (sic),” he tweeted.
