Latehar girl stranded in Ukraine, father seeks help from authorities

Daltonganj, Feb 25: A girl from Latehar’s Barwadih block is stranded in Ukraine.

 

Raj Nandini, daughter of Manoj Gupta who is a farmer, is a third-year student at the Vinnytsia National Pirogov Medical University in Ukraine. She had gone there just two months ago.

 

Lagatar24.com spoke to Manoj Gupta today.

 

He said that his daughter is safe there along with two more girls from India. They have food with them but he is not sure how long it will last but his daughter has told him not to worry.

 

Asked about electricity, water and cooking gas available for them, the voice of the father got choked on the phone while speaking to this correspondent today.

 

“We want our daughter back home in India,” he said. He has no idea if the war will end soon or escalate even more.

 

He stated that he has spoken to Chatra BJP MP Sunil Kumar Singh who has assured him of all possible help.

 

He has also been writing to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for providing a safe journey back home to all Indian students stranded in war-torn Ukraine now.

 

The girl’s father further said that Latehar DC Abu Imran was also apprised of the case of his daughter being stranded in Ukraine. The DC has asked him to come to the Latehar collectorate today.
