Ranchi, Oct.30: Police saved a 19-yr-old lady from mob lynching at Hotwag, about 100 km from Jharkhand capital under Sadar police station area in Latehar district.

This happened in the morning when the lady allegedly kidnapped the son (5) and daughter(2) of Kamlesh Yadav, who had allowed her to spend the night at his house on humanitarian grounds.

“The lady spent the night at Yadav’s residence. In the morning she left the house with Yadav’s children. Hardly she walked a kilometre with the children, villagers noticed her. They became suspicious as the children were crying. They asked the lady about her whereabouts. When she did not give a satisfactory reply they started beating her. As Yadav came to know about this, he also reached where the lady was caught. He also joined the villagers in assaulting the lady. As police came to know about this, it reached the spot and recued the lady from the mob and averted a mob lynching attempt,” a locality resident said.

Superintendent of police of the district Anjani Anjan confirmed the incident saying ‘further investigation is on in the matter.’

Officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Amit Gupta also confirmed the fact but expressed his inability to share further details in the matter.

“As the victim is a lady I will not share her name. Apart from this further investigation is on in the matter,” OC Gupta said.

OC Gupta also expressed his ignorance about the stay of the lady at Yadav’s residence. “Who told you that she had stayed at Yadav’s residence,” Gupta said in astonishment. When informed that the information is in lagatar.in and in public domain, he asked to share a link of this news on his Whatsapp number. He also shared his Whatsapp number.

Later when shared the link of lagatar.in and asked him to share further details for English readers, he did not respond. When arranged his mobile number and gave a call, he expressed his inability saying he was ‘in a meeting.’
