New Delhi: Singer Guru Randhawa’s gym in Delhi’s Pashchim Vihar area was targeted in a firing incident early Thursday morning, with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claiming responsibility and linking the attack to Randhawa’s alleged closeness with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Two Masked Shooters Fired at Gym’s Glass
West Vihar East Police Station received a PCR call about the firing at the 24HS Fitness gym located in Pushkar Enclave, Pashchim Vihar. Initial investigation confirmed that two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle, with their faces covered with cloth, fired several rounds at the gym’s glass facade. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility on Social Media
A post attributed to Anil Pandit, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi group, went viral on social media claiming responsibility for the attack. The post alleged that Randhawa had been getting too close to Salman Khan and had been warned earlier to maintain distance, but did not heed the warning. The post also carried a broader threat against those described as enemies of the gang.
Why Bishnoi Gang Targets Salman Khan’s Associates
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s vendetta against Salman Khan stems from a 1998 blackbuck poaching case during the shooting of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain near Jodhpur. The Bishnoi community considers the blackbuck sacred, and Bishnoi has been demanding a public apology from Salman Khan at a Bishnoi community temple. Salman has maintained his innocence and refuses to apologise. Due to this ongoing feud, the gang has repeatedly threatened Salman Khan and those close to him, previously targeting comedian Kapil Sharma’s restaurant as well. Salman Khan has been provided Z-plus security with enhanced police cover outside his residence.
