Jamshedpur, Oct 8: Several Jharkhand districts were expected to experience light rain with moderate thunder and lightning on Saturday, said a weather bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
According to weathermen, the rainfall activity over the state has reduced as the monsoon trough is gradually becoming weak.
The trough from south coastal Andhra Pradesh to central parts of north Uttar Pradesh was running from coastal Andhra Pradesh to Uttarakhand across cyclonic circulation over Telangana and adjoining Vidarbha, West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh at 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
Weathermen said that no significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand today.
Places like Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Dhanbad woke up to bright sunshine today while Ranchi saw a partly cloudy sky. Ranchi and its outskirts are likely to witness light thunder and lightning activity later in the day.
The month of October so far saw surplus rain of 61 % in Jharkhand. According to statistics the state as a whole has so far this October received around 47 mm of rain against an actual 29 mm.
