Jamshedpur, Sept 12: Several isolated areas of Jharkhand are expected to witness light to moderate rain today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Weathermen said the weather condition is expected to witness a change from tomorrow.
The Ranchi Met Centre predicted heavy rainfall especially in southern and some parts of central Jharkhand for three days from tomorrow (Wednesday, September 13).
Overcast conditions prevailed in several parts of Jharkhand today. Weathermen said rainfall is expected in many places tomorrow.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level was today passing through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Sagar, Pendra Road, Jharsuguda, Balasore and thence east-southeastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal.
The east-west trough was today running from cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood to Westcentral Bay of Bengal off north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and south Chhattisgarh extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
Jharkhand’s rain deficit as of today stood at 33 per cent. Except for Sahibganj and Godda, all the other 22 districts were facing deficit rainfall.
