Jamshedpur, Oct 6: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate rain at many places across Jharkhand today.
Today’s Met analysis suggested that the low-pressure area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andhra Pradesh has become less marked.
However, an associated cyclonic circulation lies over coastal Andhra Pradesh and neighbourhoods extending up to 3.1 km above the mean sea level.
The trough was running from the cyclonic circulation over Coastal Andhra Pradesh to Uttarakhand across Chhattisgarh, east Madhya Pradesh and central Uttar Pradesh extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
Ranchi and its adjoining areas will witness a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain today.
The four – months of monsoon June to September ended with a 20 per cent deficit.
In October so far, Jharkhand saw 106 per cent surplus rain. Against a normal of 20.3 mm for October so far Jharkhand has received around 41 mm of rain.
