Jamshedpur, Sept 22: Several places across Jharkhand are expected to experience light to moderate thundershowers and lightning today, said a weather bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
The low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood was today lying over northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
It is very likely to move west-northwestwards during the next 24 hours.
A trough runs from the northwest Bay of Bengal to north Punjab across north Odisha, north Chhattisgarh, cyclonic circulation associated with the low-pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
Capital Ranchi would witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain.
Meanwhile, rainfall during the past two days further brought down the state’s rain deficit to 19 per cent.
In Met parlance deficit up to 19 per cent is as good as normal.
According to Met data Jharkhand has so far actually received 776.5 mm of rainfall against a normal of 962.4 mm.
