Daltonganj, June 15: Strong westerly wind notoriously called Loo has taken one life in Palamu.
One Ajay Yadav, 34, of village Karma under the Chhaterpur police station is said to have died of a heat stroke.
SDPO Chhaterpur Ajay Kumar said, “The family of the deceased has itself said Ajay Yadav died of the loo. He was careless in the summer.” Yadav was a reckless boozer too.
Police found his body today morning in a field not far from his house at Karma, said the officer in charge of the Chhaterpur police station Shekhar Kumar.
Although the man died from the loo, his family wanted a post-mortem and so the police sent his body to the MMCH Daltonganj for the autopsy said Shekhar Kumar.
The Lagatar24.com correspondent spoke to the senior medical officer in the MMCH Daltonganj Dr R K Ranjan to find out how post-mortem would determine that the man has died from the loo.
Dr Ranjan said it is only the forensic test of the viscera so preserved that will decide the cause of death by the loo.
This is the first instance here in Palamu of the climate calamity. Death by cold in Palamu in acute winter is quite common every year but death by loo or heat stroke is very very rare.
