SNMMCH: Skill development training begins for passed-out MBBS students

Dhanbad, June 15: A two-day skill development training programme for the newly passed out 50 MBBS doctors of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) began here on Thursday morning. Earlier SNMMCH principal Dr Jyotiranjan Prasad and Superintendent Dr Arun Kumar Barbal jointly inaugurated the programme and shed light on the importance of training in dealing the patients and their diseases.

Coordinator of the training programme Prof (Dr) UK Ojha, head of the department of medicine, said that this training has significance for the newly passed out MBBS doctors as they now have entered into real-life medical education from theory education. Besides coordinator Prof ( Dr) UK Ojha, Prof (Dr) DP Bhushan, HoD Orthopedics, Prof ( Dr ) AK Thakur, HoD ENT, Dr Krishna Kumari, HoD physiology, head of different departments and senior faculty members were also present and guided the passed out doctors over skill and behavioural approach in dealing with the cases.

Principal Dr Prasad said that the passed-out students have completed theoretical study of medical. Now in two-day training, they would learn how to implement it in practice while treating the patients.

The coordinator of the Medical Education programme Dr UK Ojha said that during the training they would be briefed about how to treat different diseases, care for the patient during their treatment and tackle their attendant “We have selected some common diseases to make them (passed out doctors) aware of each ailment in the first session in the morning and followed by six hours of practical daily in the evening. Senior and experienced faculty members are guiding,” said Dr Ojha.
