Ranchi, June 8: A Ranchi court today recorded the statement of a model who claimed herself to be a victim of love jihad in the Jharkhand capital.
The development took place after the police produced her before the court after she registered a case in the matter at Gonda police station sitting at Mumbai through zero FIR facility.
Zero FIR facility allows a person to register FIR anywhere across the country which is later sent to a concerned police station for proper investigation.
The model presently lives in Mumbai but is a native of the Bhagalpur district in Bihar. She reached Ranchi on Wednesday.
The accused in the case is Tanveer Akhtar, who is the director of Yash Modelling Agency. The model alleged that Akhtar introduced himself as Yash to come close to her. According to her, when the relationship became intimate Akhtar disclosed his identity and then forced her to convert her religion to solemnize marriage with her.
A police official confirmed the development saying Judicial Magistrate Srishti Ghai recorded the statement of the model for two hours.
According to the police, there are many types of evidence against Akhtar. With the help of cyber cell, it has also been found that Akhtar was about to create a fake Facebook of the said model girl. He had tried this too. On the other hand, the model herself has also provided much evidence to the special team of Jharkhand that went to Mumbai. The police are still investigating.
