Jamshedpur, Oct 18: Several parts of the state including Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Deoghar and Dhanbad woke up to inclement weather conditions on Monday.
The intermittent rain and overcast condition were due to the impact of low pressure, said weathermen.
IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre issued an alert of heavy rain in isolated pockets of Jharkhand during the next 48 hours.
Weathermen said heavy rain was expected at isolated places over northern and central parts of Jharkhand during the next two days due to the impact of the low pressure over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal.
An associated cyclonic circulation was also extending upto 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
Statistics revealed light to moderate rain occurred at few places over Jharkhand during the past 24 hours, due to the low pressure.
The rain caused waterlogging at several places especially in low-lying areas. The showers prompted people to use umbrellas and other rain gears.
Today being Monday office-goers faced a tough time confronting the sharp showers. Weathermen said the impact of the low pressure is expected to remain till mid-week. According to Met officials, the low pressure was resulting in the rain across most districts of Jharkhand.
