Make your mark in the competitive world, says SNMMCH principal to new MBBS batch

Dhanbad, Nov 15: Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) principal Dr Jyoti Ranjan Prasad while addressing the 1st professional MBBS students on the first day of their college in orientation programme today advised them to make a mark in the present competitive world maintaining an all-round performance.

“It is a competitive world. So you have to make your mark in it by attending regular classes, behaving in a manner, following all rules and regulations, guidelines,” he advised.

On the directive of the National  Medical Commission (NMC), the classes of the 1st professional MBBS of 2022-23 academic sessions began today in medical colleges across the country from today.

Following the NMC directive, SNMMCH organized an orientation programme for the students who have got admissions so far after the first counselling. Principal Dr Prasad welcomed the new batch of students and made them aware of the way of the line in the institution.

The principal along with superintendent Dr Arun Kumar Baranwal and heads of different faculties and senior lecturers guided the students on how to live in a hostel, attend class and participate in academic as well as other activities in the institution.

The principal also informed the students about the ragging menace and said that there is no record of ragging with a student in the institution ever, notwithstanding proper arrangement has been made to check it. He informed them about different cells for lodging complaints if they suspect it.

Besides the newly admitted students, the college management had also invited their guardians to attend the orientation.

Apart from the principal, superintendent Dr Arun Kumar Baranwal, senior faculty members Dr Shashi Bala Nag, programme coordinator orientation day, physiology head of the department Dr Krishna Kumari, Dr CD Ram HoD anaesthesia (convener anti-ragging committee), Dr Ganesh Kumar (professor’s in-charge student’s section, Dr Anil Kumar (boys hostel in-charge ), Dr Leena Singh (girl’s hostel in-charge), Dr Makardhwaj Prasad (Hod anatomy), Dr Suchima Sinha, Dr Phani Bhushan, Dr Akash Chandra (organizer), Dr Veenit Tigga also guided the students about how to lead a life in college and pursue the career.

Earlier, before the beginning of the programme, principal Dr Prasad along with the faculty members paid floral tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary.
