Dumka, Nov.2: Police have recovered the dead body of a 42 years old man from inside a burned-out Maruti Omni car which was parked in the roadside forests under the bordering part of Tongra and Kundahit (Jamtara) police stations, on Tuesday early morning.

The deceased has been identified as Kajal Mandal, the car’s owner, who went to Jaipur in Bengal on Monday evening with a group of people who had hired the vehicle.

“The incident prima facie appears to have been the cases of murder while the deceased was returning after dropping the passengers to their destination at Jaipur in Bengal,” DSP (rural) Vijay Kumar said adding that the culprits dumped the dead body inside the car and set it ablaze.

Blood stains have also been found scattered at some distance from the car suggesting that the deceased was intercepted by the culprits midway through his return and forced him to come out of the vehicle before murdering him.

“The dead body was almost completely charred so the postmortem report is awaited to ascertain the cause of the death,” the DSP added.
