Patna: Many rivers are flowing above the danger mark in Bihar these days. Other rivers including Gandak, Budhi Gandak and Bagmati have also crossed the danger mark at many places. Due to this new areas are coming in the grip of floods. In Sugauli of East Champaran, water has entered the city as well as the railway quarter.
A dozen blocks affected by floods
The flood situation remains critical in many districts. About a dozen blocks are affected by the floods. For the third time in Sugauli, flood water has entered the railway quarter and PHC. Due to this, more than six lakh population in the district is affected by the floods. Flood water has entered in Kesaria block of Areraj. People are troubled by floods in many villages of Motihari Sadar block. The Gandak river is flowing 1.37 meters above the red mark at Dumaria Ghat. In Lal Begiya Sikrhana 84 cm and at Ahiruliya the Budhi Gandak river is flowing 32 cm above the red mark.
Water entered Darbhanga city
Flood water has also entered Darbhanga city. Because of this, buses are being operated from the main road. Water has entered people’s homes in many panchayats of Sadar block. Flood water is increasing in various wards of Municipal Corporation area also. Flood havoc is also continuing in various panchayats of Keoti block. Due to this, a large number of people are forced to take shelter in high places. The district administration has directed to start community kitchens so that people can be helped.
