Mason dies of lightning in Hazaribag

Hazaribag, June 30: 48-year-old Visheshwar Gope, a resident of Kusumbha village in Katkamdag block, died due to lightning on Friday afternoon.  Visheshwar Gope used to work as a mason. According to the information received regarding the incident, Visheshwar was present near the house of one Arjun Gope, when suddenly lightning struck. Gope became unconscious. He was immediately brought to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital (SBMCH). The villagers informed Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal about it.

On the instruction of the MLA, his media representative Ranjan Chaudhary reached the hospital but by then the doctor had declared Visheshwar dead.  Chaudhary extended every possible cooperation in sending the body of the deceased to his village after the post-mortem. The deceased has left behind a wife, two sons and a daughter.

Jaiswal, while expressing deep condolences over the incident, assured the relatives of the deceased for compensation under disaster management soon. He also appealed to the people of the area to be careful after the rains and take all kinds of precautions to save themselves from the incident of lightning.
