New Delhi, Sept 30: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Friday that Jasprit Bumrah has been replaced for the T20I series by pacer Mohammed Siraj.
Notably, it was announced yesterday that Jasprit Bumrah will miss the remaining matches of the T20I series between India and South Africa.
After Bumrah suffered a back injury during the lead-up to the first T20I between the two teams, the All-India Senior Selection Committee chose to select pacer Siraj for India’s home match against South Africa. Bumrah is currently under the care of the BCCI medical staff after missing the whole Asia Cup 2022 owing to a back injury.
Bumrah, India’s top-ranked bowler, is questionable for the T20 World Cup 2022, which begins next month in Australia. Due to back soreness, the top pacer was unable to play in Wednesday’s series opener between South Africa and India. Bumrah will miss the travel to Australia owing to a back stress fracture, according to numerous reports.
