Mecon Sports Club to clash with Hehal Sporting for Kartik Oraon football trophy tomorrow

Ranchi, Oct 15: Mecon Sports Club and Hehal Sporting Club have booked their places in tomorrow’s final after they defeated their respective opponents, Raja Sports Club and St John’s Football Academy, in today’s semis clash of the 21st Kartik Oraon Memorial Football Tournament 2022.

The first semi-final was played between Mecon Sports Club, Ranchi and Raja Sports Club, Bariatu. Both the teams performed brilliantly as the match saw many ups and downs.

There were many great attacks in Mecon today but they failed to break the goal till the first half. Raja Sports Bariatu goalkeeper Ankit performed brilliantly and foiled many attacks.

Mecon started aggressively in the second half as a result of which the first goal was scored in the 34th minute by Rohit Tigga to give Mecon a 1-0 lead which lasted till the end. The man of the match was given to Rohit.

The second semi-final was played between St. John’s Football Academy and Hehal Sporting Ranchi. St. John’s Football Academy was leading 2-0 till half-time but Hehal Sporting got the advantage of a penalty in 30 minutes of the game which was converted by Raju Mandal to make the score 2-1.

After trailing 2-1, Hehal Sporting continued to attack, the result was that Vikas levelled the score in 54th minute and the score remained 2-2 till the stipulated time.

A tie-breaker took place in which Hehal Sporting’s Amit, Nitish and Raju Mandal scored winning 5-2.
