New Delhi: Popular singer Mika Singh has weighed in on the Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia controversy, stating that while both influencers are talented, they should be more mindful of their influence on the youth.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Mika Singh remarked that Ranveer Allahbadia’s biggest mistake was appearing on Samay Raina’s show, as both have very different audiences. “Ranveer’s show is decent and respectful, while Samay’s show caters to a different kind of audience. Had he not gone there, this controversy wouldn’t have happened,” he said.
The controversy erupted when Ranveer Allahbadia appeared as a guest on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent, and asked a contestant an offensive question. The comment sparked massive backlash on social media, leading to legal action against both influencers.
“Influencers Must Set the Right Example”
Mika Singh emphasized that social media influencers with large audiences must be responsible for their content. “More vulgar things have been spoken about on Samay’s show, but saying such cheap things in a country like India is bound to be hurtful,” he said.
The singer also urged people to forgive both Ranveer and Samay, saying that they struggled to manage their success. “Ban the artist for some time, but don’t drag their families into this. This controversy should serve as a lesson for all influencers that they cannot talk rubbish,” he added.
Following the backlash, Samay Raina removed all videos of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel.
