Ramgarh, July 20: A virtual meeting of a high-level committee constituted by the Ministry of Defense was held regarding the merger of Cantonment Board Ramgarh with the municipal body. An appeal was made not to change the seniority list of the employees. Jharkhand Cantonment Employees Union General Secretary Anmol Singh and Adm Commandant Vipin Kumar also participated in video conferencing from the Cantonment Board Ramgarh.
Executive Officer of Ramgarh, Deputy Commissioner, Cantonment Board senior officials of the Ministry of Defense Finance Department, senior military officers of Defense Command and all the people of the committee were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the problems of Ramgarh employees were apprised on behalf of the Jharkhand Employees Union. General Secretary Anmol Singh put five points before the committee. In this, along with the demand of not making any change in the preference of the employees, it was demanded that they should be kept there on the same terms and conditions in the same pay scale in which they are working there. It was also proposed to include the employees of the Cantonment Board in the MES station headquarters RDO office. Along with this, two proposals were given before the committee to ensure jobs based on compassion. Employees who are working in Cantonment Board Ramgarh on the contract was also proposed to be included in the municipal body. The problem of the prohibited area of Ward No. 7, 8 under Ramgarh Cantonment Board has also been placed before the committee.
Jharkhand Cantonment Employees Union General Secretary Singh said that 340 acres of land in the prohibited area belong to the ryots here. There are more than 1500 houses built here. Government offices of the state and central government are also built here. Temple, mosque and college are also built here. All the residents here are being deprived of their fundamental rights. The official of the Ministry of Defense has given assurance of giving a decision on this soon after considering all these issues seriously. Some more documents were demanded in the meeting.
