Koderma, July 10: A girl who went missing from Koderma leaving a suicide note, a bag and her identity card on the Teliya Dam bridge was recovered from a hostel in Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar area. The girl identified as Sonu Kumari left home to appear in her commerce paper on July 4 but didn’t return.

Police officials swung into action after they came to know about a suicide note, identity card and a bag of the girl Sonu Kumari found from the bridge of the dam. The Tilaiya Dam police started its investigation and soon set aside the claim of Sonu’s family that she had committed suicide. The family later suspected a youth’s involvement in her disappearance which made the police start its investigation from this angle.

Police traced the girl’s location in Mukherjee Nagar and raided the Crystal PG girls’ hostel on Sunday recovering her from there. Officer-in-charge Amrita Khalkho said Chandan Pandit whom Sonu’s family suspected was behind in suggesting her the hostel in Delhi. She said Sonu caught the Purushottam Express on July 4 only to go to Delhi. “We are trying to know why she did this”, she added.
