Ranchi, June 20: Around 4000 people participated in the state-sponsored World Yoga Day programme at MECON Stadium in Ranchi.
Health Minister Banna Gupta inaugurated the programme. Those present on the occasion included state minister Mithilesh Thakur, parliamentarian Mahua Manji, Kanke MLA Samri Lal and parliamentarian Sameer Oraon.
Health minister Gupta on the occasion said that Yoga has been the identity of this country and Hemant Soren led government in Jharkhand is working to give a separate identity to yoga.
Minister Thakur said that yoga is helpful in making the public healthy. Additional chief Secretary of the Health Department, Arun Kumar Singh thanked the people for the successful organization of the program.
There is a report of the Yoga Day celebrations from the Jharkhand High Court and other places in the city also.
