Ranchi: In a major blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the much-publicized “Modi Magic” failed to make an impact in the Jharkhand Assembly elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed six rallies across the state, targeting all five administrative divisions, yet the results did not favor the BJP. The ruling INDIA alliance, spearheaded by Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren, outperformed the BJP-led NDA, gaining widespread support across the state.
Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren carried out over 100 rallies each, effectively countering the BJP’s slogan “Batenge Toh Katenge” and connecting with voters at the grassroots level. Their campaign emphasized the alliance’s manifesto and highlighted development-focused policies, resonating with the electorate.
The BJP had deployed its top leaders, including Chief Ministers from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, to campaign extensively. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as BJP’s Jharkhand in-charge, conducted rallies across constituencies while gathering feedback from party workers. However, the BJP’s efforts failed to sway voters, as INDIA’s focused strategy dominated the narrative.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s outreach failed to counter the ground-level campaigns led by Hemant and Kalpana Soren. The INDIA bloc’s collaborative efforts, including support from Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Lalu Prasad, played a pivotal role in the electoral victory.
