New Delhi, Sept 16: The two main absconding members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang were apprehended by the Punjab Police on Friday in Amritsar in relation to the murder of Punjabi musician Sidhu Moose Wala.

Police had originally claimed that Moose Wala’s murder, which occurred on May 29 in Punjab’s Mansa district by unidentified assailants a day after the state government reduced security, was the result of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi’s plot. Lawrence Bisnoi was identified as the perpetrator of the singer’s murder in this instance, according to the evidence. A close friend of Bishnoi’s, the Canadian gangster Goldy Brar, is also the subject of that probe.

“In an intelligence-led operation, Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) arrested two main absconding members– Mandeep and Manpreet of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Gang from Amritsar. Both were wanted for several cases of killings, dacoity and links with Sidhu Moose Wala murder case,” said the Director General of Police (DGP), Punjab.

Following the arrest of the final suspect in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, Deepak Mundi, on Sunday from the Indo-Nepal Border in West Bengal, along with his two assistants, the Punjab police also apprehended the 23rd suspect.

According to the authorities, the suspects were apprehended as they tried to flee to Nepal. Rajinder nicknamed Joker and Kapil Pandit have been named as the other two people detained.

The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Punjab Police, Delhi Police, and Central agencies all participated in the operation.
