Ranchi, Dec 15: Jharkhand’s agriculture minister Badal Patralekh on Thursday said that a total of 17,50,814 beneficiaries from the state have registered themselves in the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme. Out of these, there are 9,13,410 such farmers who have not sown till now.
Apart from this, there are 6,69,007 farmers whose crop damage is more than 33 per cent. A total of 1,68,397 landless agricultural labourers have been registered on the portal. Maximum farmers of Palamu, Deoghar and Garhwa have registered for relief.
The agriculture minister has directed the officials to speed up the verification of land documents of the applications received so that relief can be provided to the maximum number of farmers in the state.
In order to provide relief to the farmers affected by the drought, the applications of the affected farmers are being received continuously on the Chief Minister’s Drought Relief Scheme.
The agriculture minister added that until the last drought-affected farmer of the state does not get the benefit of the relief scheme, registration of farmers will continue on the CM Drought Relief Scheme portal.
