MoU signed between NIT Jamshedpur and NHAI for making highway projects easier

Jamshedpur, Aug 1: Like several other prestigious technical institutions, now NIT, Jamshedpur will also chip in for the infrastructural development of the nation.

With a view to provide technical assistance for the difficult infrastructural projects of NHAI, an MoU was signed between the authorities of National Highway Infrastructural Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) and NIT Jamshedpur in New Delhi.

On behalf of NIT Jamshedpur, Col (Dr) Nishith Kumar Ray (Registrar) and from the NHIDCL its managing director Chanchal Kumar signed the MoU following a meeting in New Delhi on Monday evening.

As per the MoU, the NIT, Jamshedpur will work in tandem with the NHIDCL,  NHAI’s research and development wing, in finding solutions for the national highway projects at difficult terrains, especially in the regions connecting international borders.

The techies from the Jamshedpur-based institution will provide their expertise on how to make a national highway project easier at the high altitude of any mountainous terrain evident in the states like Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

Dr Gautam Sutradhar, director, NIT Jamshedpur has expressed pleasure over the signing of the MoU with the NHIDCL.  While talking to the media, he observed that the projects undertaken by the NHAI will henceforth be easier for completion successfully after the participation of his institute.
