Ranchi, July 22: On the occasion of National Flag Adoption Day, film producer Pintoo Durrani, who received the Rajiv Gandhi Achievement Award in 2014 for the Tiranga Yatra, reaffirmed his resolve to convey the tricolour to every home in the nation.
Speaking to Lagatar24.com from Mumbai, Durrani said that Jharkhand holds a particular place in his heart when it comes to his reverence for the tricolour.
“I had the chance to take part in the Tiranga Yatra from Shaheed Chowk to Morhabadi Ground on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in 2014. Since that time, my respect for the tricolour has increased dramatically, and I made a commitment to take it to every home in the nation. I still stand by that promise. I always have the tricolour with me, and I’ve given it out to at least 50,000 people so far,” said Durrani.
The film director, whose brother Iqbal Durrani is also well-known in the industry, claimed that he has educated young people about the significance of the tricolour in a number of states, including Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and others.
“I am delighted every time I have the chance to convey the central idea of the Ashoka Chakra’s twenty-four spokes. When I explain to young people the meanings of the colours saffron for power, white for simplicity, equality, and peace, and green for joy and wealth, it makes me incredibly happy. When I describe the twenty-four spokes of the Ashoka Chakra, which are depicted in dark blue, to young people, they become joyful. These spokes are: Hope, Affection, Courage, Endurance, Peace, Kindness, Goodness, Devotion, Truthfulness, Aura, Restraint, Selflessness, Renunciation, Truthfulness, Righteousness, Justice, Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Compassion, Sympathy,”
For the Tiranga Yatra, Durransi received the Rajiv Gandhi Achievement Award in 2014. He claimed that the tricolour follows me no matter where he goes or resides.
“Taking the tricolour from home to home, promoting patriotism through the Tiranga Yatra, and rousing the populace in support of the establishment of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat have now become the goals of my life. The world’s national flags are all inferior to the quality of our banner. The tricolour will stay in my life until I die. I want to achieve that. It’s out of self-respect,” the producer of the movie said.
Durrani was born in Baluatari, a small village in the Bausi area of the Banka district, which is part of the Bhagalpur division of Bihar, and was raised in the Mandar soil.
