Dhanbad Aug 28: Dr Santvana Sharan of Jharkhand (Ramgarh district) has got national FOGSI Vistrit Appreciation Award for her outstanding contribution in implementing Maternal and Child Health care during Corona pandemic.
Dr Prithi Kumar of Uttar Pradesh, chairperson of Save Motherhood Committee of Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of India (FOGSI) presented the national Vistrit Appreciation Award to Dr Santvana Sharan on Friday.
Vistrit Appreciation Award is a prestigious honour given by FOGSI for providing women quality management in anaemia and diabetes in pregnancy. “ Anaemia and diabetes are two major threats to safe pregnancy and safe delivery. So its management keeps significant in this stage for women,” said a gynaecologist.
Vistrit Programme is an ambitious project of FOGSI to empower selected obstetrics hospitals with facilities of standardised management over anaemia and diabetes of pregnant women.
During the Corona crisis, Dr Santvana Sharan of Ramgarh organized intensive online training programmes at hospital for doctors, health care workers, elaborate lecture sessions of expert mentors and specialist doctors of country and abroad over maternal and child health care. On basis of her programmes, Save Mother Committee of FOGSI has presented Vistrit Appreciation Award.
Dr Santvana Sharan, who is also national secretary of Mission Pink of Indian Medical Association (IMA), has also done outstanding service in awareness of adolescent girls, women about health and hygienic condition.
Members of the IMA state chapter and Jharkhand Health Service Association ( body of state government medical officers) have congratulated Dr Santvana Sharan for getting a national award and said this would encourage other medicos to do the same.
