Ranchi, Aug.28: Police arrested two extremists with five mobile phones, nine SIM, two PLFI pamphlets, and Rs 11,000 cash from Tilta bridge under Ratu police station area.
They were identified as Shiv Shanker Kesri, a resident of Piska Nagri, and Sajid Ansari, a resident of Hurhuri under the Ratu police station area.
Superintendent of police, (rural) Naushad Alam said arresting took place after they demanded Rs 1.11 lakh as levy from Surendra Gupta, a resident of Jhakhratand giving him repeated threatening of dire consequences in case of non-payment of the levy amount and the latter informed the police regarding the demand.
He said the technical cell of the police helped ascertain their location and as the location was ascertained they were arrested.
