Ranchi: The National Lok Adalat organized in the Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday distributed over Rs 65 lakh among 35 victims under the Jharkhand Victims Compensation Act.
The Adalat held at the instruction of Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA) Executive Chairman Justice S Chandrashekhar also disposed off over 91,000 cases
which included execution of pre-litigation and litigation suits. The settlement amount of more than Rs 123 crore was recovered in various suits.
Justice S Chandrashekhar, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad and Justice Navneet Kumar also reached the Ranchi Civil Court where the Adalat was organised. They saw the activities of the National Lok Adalat and also inspected the Lok Adalat. For the successful organization of the National Lok Adalat, 25 benches presided over by judicial magistrates and 19 benches by executive magistrates were formed.
