New Delhi: Nayab Singh Saini is all set to take the oath as Haryana’s Chief Minister for the second consecutive term on Thursday, October 17. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) re-elected Saini as the legislative party leader following his leadership in the recent assembly elections.

Anil Vij, the former home and family welfare minister, reportedly proposed Saini’s name for the top post. Saini, who was the face of BJP’s campaign during the elections, had secured a win from the Ladwa seat in Kurukshetra district. He first became Chief Minister in March 2024, prior to the Lok Sabha elections.

Reacting to the announcement, Saini addressed BJP workers and expressed his gratitude. “On behalf of the people of Haryana, I would like to welcome Amit Shah. I am thrilled that the central leadership appointed four in-charge members, who worked towards achieving a big mandate for BJP’s third consecutive victory in Haryana. Special thanks to Dharmendra Pradhan and others for their efforts,” he said.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Dussehra Grounds in Sector 5, Panchkula, at 10 am. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leaders are expected to attend the event.
