Mumbai, Oct.25: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has ordered a vigilance investigation after a witness accused zonal director Sameer Wankhede of asking for a Rs 25 crore payment through another witness in order to free Aryan Khan.

“I am monitoring the inquiry on the charges (against Sameer Wankhede),” NCB Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh stated. When asked if Wankhede will stay on the job, Singh replied, “It is too early to make a judgement. We’ve only recently begun our investigation.”

Officials from the Mumbai NCB have submitted a thorough report to the Director-General of the NCB regarding the allegations levelled against the investigation agency.

According to reports, the internal inquiry of the vigilance probe on Wankhede would be assigned to DDG Gyaneshwar Singh, who is also the NCB’s Chief Vigilance Officer.

Sameer Wankhede will arrive at the Delhi NCB headquarters for a review meeting on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, independent witness Prabhakar Sail arrived at the Mumbai police commissioner’s office on Monday to speak with senior security personnel in the Mumbai cruise drugs case. He alleged on Sunday that an NCB officer demanded Rs 25 crore to release Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan from the case.

Sail went to the police commissioner’s office, apparently to discuss his security concerns. At 11:20 a.m., he arrived at the commissioner’s office and met with Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Milind Bharambhe.

On Sunday, Sail told reporters that he was afraid for his life and that he could be harmed.

An employee of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and others, including absconding witness K P Gosavi, had wanted Rs 25 crore from Sail, the ‘independent witness,’ to allow Aryan Khan off the hook in the cruise narcotics case.
