RAJ KUMAR
Ranchi, Jan.18: New SIM in an old mobile phone helped the Ranchi police track the missing Sudha Dairy engineer Sujit Kumar missing since December 22 from the dairy farm in Dhurwa.
A police official informed this to Lagatar English saying Kumar had left his office premises without informing anyone after he felt extremely depressed due to some pressure.
“Kumar switched off his mobile phone and destroyed its SIM. Later, he purchased another SIM and inserted it in his mobile phone. As the mobile phone was switched on, he came under the surveillance of the police. Kumar took an auto rickshaw to reach Kanta Toli and then reached to Kolkata via Ormanjhi, Gola and Dhanbad. In Kolkata, he stayed for more than seven days and then went to Siliguri, where he stayed two days. From Siliguri he went to Bhagalpur, Deoghar, Araria and Purnia,” the police official said.
Asked how he was noticed at in Ranchi, the police said: “Based on his last location, police sent a team to Purnia but next morning his location was found at Kanta Toli. As police realised the same, it rushed to the bus stand without any delay and took Kumar in its safe custody. If new SIM would not have been used in the old mobile tracking had been difficult.”
