Daltonganj, Dec 31: People in the Sadar subdivision of Palamu district will have to adhere to the Covid appropriate behaviour during the New Year’s celebration.

SDO Sadar Rajesh Kumar Sah today in an interaction with the media persons said that joy and celebration to welcome the New Year should not be in any way which poses hazards and risks to public life in this time when cases of Covid are pouring in from all over the state.

The SDO informed that a resort in a suburban area in his subdivision has planned to have a grand gala music, song and dance programme but will have to keep its guests and gathering behave in adherence to the Covid appropriate behaviour by using face masks, social distancing, hand sanitization etc.

He said the resort is directed to keep its word as any flouting of health safety norms and measures would be taken into account very seriously.

A visitor to such a celebration in a hotel, bar, restaurant etc has to carry his/her covid vaccination certificates of both doses, reminded the SDO.

Teens below 18 have been advised not to get involved in any such ventures as the age group of 15 to 18 is to get vaccination on/ from January 3 only.

The SDO Sadar further reminded that parents should avoid carrying their kids into a mall or big shopping complex as exposure there may not be conducive to the health of their kids.

Sources said that fake news about an impending imposition of prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC was floated in social media which was later withdrawn by the floaters themselves.

The SDO Sadar, when asked about it, said he had nothing to say on any nonexistent thing.
