Ranchi, April 13: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing a terror funding case has started interrogating two Naxalites. The development took place after the court allowed the national probe agency to take them in three-day remand for interrogation.

The two include Muneshwar Ganju and Govind Birijiya. They are considered close to CPI (Maoist) regional commander, Ravindra Ganjhu. Muneshwar carries a Rs 10 lakh bounty over his head. They were arrested during Operation Bulbul.

Earlier, the NIA had interrogated brick kiln owner Sajan Kumar Bhuia in this connection.

On February 21, 2022, in the Bulbul Forest of Lohardaga, a conspiracy was hatched to blow up the security forces and loot their weapons. To carry out the attack, Ravindra Ganjhu along with his 45 to 50 cadres attacked the police.

As Maoists attacked, security personnel retaliated. This resulted in a fierce encounter between security personnel and Maoists. After the encounter ended, police caught nine Naxalites alive. Ravindra Ganjhu managed to escape along with his other companions.

Security personnel recovered a cache of arms and ammunition besides explosives from the spot. After this, an FIR was lodged against 17 Naxalites, including Ravindra Ganjhu at Peshrar police station. Taking over the same FIR, the NIA has started its investigation.
