New Delhi, June 13: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed its second supplementary chargesheet against three accused in the case involving the kidnapping and brutal murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta by the CPI (Maoist) or naxals, a proscribed group.
The chargesheet has been filed in the NIA Special Court, Patna in Bihar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act 1967 against Vinay Yadav, Naval Ji and Jilebiya Yadav, all residents of Bihar.
It happens barely a few days after the NIA conducted searches extensively in Bihar and Jharkhand in relation to the case.
Nine individuals have so far been detained in connection with the case, which was initially registered by the Bihar Police on November 3, 2018, and taken over by the NIA on June 24 of last year. On February 25 of this year, the NIA filed an additional chargesheet against one of the the accused.
Top CPI (Maoist) Commanders had been involved in the plot that resulted in the brutal murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta, which was carried out with the intention of terrorising people, according to the NIA’s investigation into the case.
“Weapons and vehicles used in the murder of Naresh Singh Bhokta were recovered,” said the NIA.
The three individuals charged today were all discovered to be members of the CPI (Maoist) or naxal group, which is prohibited, and were all arrested on December 15 of last year. They had gone to the conference of the Zonal Commanders and top leaders of CPI (Maoist) that had been called by the accused Pramod Mishra in the Anjanwa forest. The decision to kill Bhokta and other alleged police informants was made during this discussion.
The trio participated in the kidnapping of Naresh Singh Bhokta and the holding of the Jan Adalat (so-called public gathering), where it was decided to get rid of Bhokta, which ultimately resulted in his untimely death, along with other co-accused individuals.
