Jamshedpur, Dec 28 : NIT Jamshedpur in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district has decided to come up with an incubation centre for the MSME sector.

Director of the tech cradle Karunesh Kumar Shukla said that talks were on with experts and industries in the MSME sector for the ambitious project.

” We are serious about the project as it will benefit the MSME sector of the region. In fact, the MSME sectors want an incubation centre to come up at the NIT, ” said Shukla.

Apart from this, the leading tech institute of this region will come up with faculty apartments and accommodation facilities for married research scholars.

The director informed that the foundation stone of a 1000 capacity boys hostel would soon be laid on the campus of NIT.

Moreover, a 300 capacity girls hostel would also come up on the campus. The NIT administration had fixed January third week for beginning the offline classes for M.Tech on the campus. Shukla said as of now they have plans to resume classes in January  ” But, if Covid cases rise or in case of threat of a third wave, classes may get delayed, ” he said.

The recruitment process in various streams of engineering at NIT is taking place online for the second year in a row due to the Covid- induced pandemic.
