New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday appointed Bihar minister Nitin Nabin as its national working president, marking a significant leadership shift within the party. He will replace JP Nadda, who has held the position since 2020. Nabin, a five-term MLA from Patna’s Bankipur seat, is regarded as one of the youngest leaders to take on this role.
PM Modi Praises Nabin’s Organisational Strength
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nabin, calling him an industrious leader with deep organisational experience. He highlighted Nabin’s longstanding commitment to public service, his grounded style of working and his consistent electoral track record. Modi stated that Nabin’s leadership would strengthen the party in the years ahead.
A Fast-Rising Political Leader from Bihar
Nitin Nabin, son of late BJP stalwart Nabin Kishore Sinha, began his political journey in student activism through ABVP before rising through the organisational ranks of the BJP in Patna. Elected first in 2010, he has won every assembly election since, establishing himself as a key figure in urban governance and infrastructure development. His appointment comes alongside the party’s state-level reshuffle, which included naming Pankaj Choudhary as UP state president.
